First Month Checklist for Moving to Falcon
> Settling into Falcon requires a few specific tasks that city residents don't face. Working through them early prevents frustrating surprises.
Week 1: Infrastructure setup
Confirm your water district and set up billing. Identify your trash hauler and arrange service. Confirm internet provider and schedule installation if not already set up. Update your driver's license address with CDOT.
Week 2: Schools and childcare
If you have kids, contact D49 to confirm boundary assignment and enrollment. If you need childcare, start calling now — waitlists are real for infant and toddler slots.
Week 3: Local connections
Find your nearest King Soopers or Safeway and build your grocery route. Identify the closest urgent care clinic on Highway 24. Establish a primary care provider in the area or arrange transfer from your previous provider.
Week 4: Community and services
Join your HOA communications channel if applicable. Locate your county representative and the El Paso County non-emergency contact. Find out your snow removal situation — county, HOA, or self-managed.
The ongoing adjustment
Building your errand routine takes 1–2 months. Falcon's layout requires batching. Most residents find a rhythm by month 2 and feel genuinely settled by month 4.
