Weekend Test Drive Before Moving to Falcon
> One weekend in Falcon before you sign anything tells you whether the lifestyle actually matches what you've read about.
Stay in a nearby area
There are no hotels in Falcon proper. Book a hotel in Colorado Springs or use an Airbnb in a nearby community. This is actually useful — you'll experience the commute into Falcon firsthand.
Drive the commute routes
Drive Highway 24 east during Friday afternoon rush, then back during Monday morning rush. This is the commute you'll live. There's no substitute for experiencing it rather than estimating it.
Walk or drive specific subdivisions
Visit Meridian Ranch, Woodmen Hills, and Latigo on the same trip. Drive the internal streets. Look at lot sizes, spacing between homes, commercial proximity, and how long it actually takes to drive out to Highway 24. These feel different in person than on a map.
Visit the nearest grocery store
Drive to the King Soopers on Highway 24. Time the drive from the subdivision you're considering. Add 30 minutes for the actual shopping trip. This is your new grocery reality.
Talk to actual residents
Meridian Ranch has parks and a recreation center. Hang around during a busy afternoon. Talk to people. Ask them what they wish they'd known. This converts in 20 minutes what no review site does in an hour.
